As was mentioned previously, the main purpose of guttering is to protect the foundation. While
it can be used as a means of diverting water from walkways, it is recommended to install it on
the whole house.
To reinforce this thought, if a foundation is repaired by a pier company, that company will require
guttering to be installed on the whole house for their warranty to be applicable.
